On the passing of an icon..Ruth Bader Ginsburg

 May she rest in peace. A truly remarkable career as a jurist known for equality, women's rights and racial justice. Unfortunately, it is a dark day for the Supreme Court almost in the same sentence. The fear we all have is that the Republican majority in the Senate will seize this very moment to push for a conservative replacement . We will not know who Trump may fancy ,certainly not a nominee of R.G.B"s views. Obviously, Trump will try to get his nominee through whether or not he wins or loses this November's election. Let us all hold our collective breathe  and hope not. Another lifetime appointee will greatly change the character of the Supreme Court. Should we consider changing the term of Supreme Court justices? Isn't it time to change? Why should any one President have the power to stack the court? Wouldn't it wise to have shorter terms, twelve years let's say, to give other Presidents the opportunity to nominate justices. Ruth Bader Ginsburg leaves us to contemplate the importance of her role as a member of the Supreme Court.

Attention REPUBLICANS: HOW CAN POSSIBLY VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP?

Are you actually paying attention to what is happening? Or you you just supporting Trump because your parents voted Republican . Donald Trump is not your protector; he does not even care about you.  Donald Trump dishonored our dead servicemen  and women at Arlington National Cemetery ; that means he may have dishonored someone in your family or someone you may have known; he abandoned our allies in the field of battle . He is ruining the environment that your children have to grow up in; he is trying to take  are away your health care during a pandemic. He does not tell the truth about anything. He thinks that YOU are STUPID! WHY? Because you listen to him!He is trying to make wearing a mask during a pandemic to save lives a political issue. He even wants you to believe that if you vote by mail that you can check to see if your vote was counted and then vote again. Number one voting twice is a felony number two your polling place would not know anything about your mail in ballot. Number three your vote is counted if you mailed it. Trump is trying to create doubt and fear.  He trusts Putin more than OUR intelligence services. He is the worst president in our history. He gives money to his friends to artifically inflate the economy. Donald Trump is not fit for the highest office in the land.  He is a racist! He has created great division in our country; he has damaged the integrity of the United States on the world stage..There is so much more ! How can you even think about voting for Trump? A Vote for Trump is a vote for the end of democracy! So if you choose to go that way,YOU MUST BE STUPID!  

America:WE are in Trouble!

 Another shooting, this time a white 39 year old white alleged Trump supporter. The horizon is not shining as brightly as it should be. We all acknowledge the need for change. There is an election co ming up in the next 64 days. I certainly hope that everyone will vote. but I know it is not going to happen. Sadly, the electorate of our nation does not think it is necessary to vote. For whatever reason, the electorate rarely manages to get close to 60 percent. So let me put this in perspective for you; according to a recent poll Democrats makeup 31% pf the electorate Republicans makeup 25% of the electorate and Independents represent 40% of the electorate and who knows about the remaining 4% of potential voters. It is going to take alot for the Democrats to unseat the sitting President. As much as we are denouncing the Trump presidency, he still holds the office. He has the benefit of being the incumbent and has vast assests to speak for his re-election. New Yorkers live in a vacuum ; and I being a New Yorker think that Donald J. Trump is not a good president and that he does not deserve another four years. I hope that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win by a landslide in November.  The ticket holds a current lead in the polls. but the race is really just getting started. The Democrats must work their hardest to maintain their momentum without taking anything forgranted. Citizens we are in trouble . We cannot allow looting and violence to harm our goal in defeating Trump. It is very easy to say and hard to do during these troubled times. We have to focus on the goal rather than our emotions. There will be justice for the agitator-in-chief and the administration that supports him. Both red, blue and purple all want to live in peace with liberty and justice equally under the law. I believe that we all want to end racism.  We want to reign in police brutality; we must have reform and a uniform national way to police. We must have an open and fair election; one in which everyone can cast their ballot in a manner that is best suited for them whether it be mail-in,absentee or at the polls.Each and every ballot must be counted because every vote counts. SO IF YOU WANT CHANGE; IT IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS...CASTE YOUR BALLOT FOR JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS . MAKE THE EFFORT AND VOTE!

The people who were murdered in Kenosha ,Wisconsin by a 17 year old were WHITE!

Donald Trump promotes hate. Your milita friend killed two white protestors in Kenosha Wisconsin protesting the shooting of Jacob Blake.  Tell that to your base Donald. You do not deserve to be called Mr. PRESIDENT. You are a disgrace to the office and to the people of the United States. Do you understand that what you preach resonates to your base and that some of your base carries out your statements. You do not deserve four more years as your careless invitees chanted last night at your presentation. You violated the law again; you violated the Hatch Act. Who is holding you responsible, Bill Barr?  Who is going to be held responsible for the deaths of the skateboarder, Anthony Huber and another Joseph Rosenbaum, both fathers. I suggest that you should be held responsible Mr. Trump..You agitated that teenager to act and you subconsciously made him pull the trigger .  You are an accomplice. The deaths of those innocent young people are proof that your remarks sparked violence. What are you going to say to their families? Hearts and prayers are not enough! Citizens DONALD TRUMP IS A DISGRACE TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY! It is not a tale of two cities but a tale to two countries

 We have managed to get through the democratic convention with a vision of restoring the United States and the doom and gloom of the republican convention. What I am concerned about is a misconception that the democrats have it in the bag.  It is the end of August..the campaigns will start in earnest after the Labor Day weekend. With the unbelieveable shooting of Jacob Blake and the just as unbelieveable killing of two protestors by a 17 year old kid. I am sick to my stomach over this; aren't you? The police ignored this kid with a rifle; a policemen held on to Jacob Blake's tee shirt and shot him seven times in the back with his children watching the incident.What the hell is going on here? The fear that Donald Trump is promoting is encouraging violence .Civil unrest is the one thing that the present administration wants; Donald Trump does not care about the Corona virus; Donald Trump does not care about the Black Lives Matter Movement; Donald Trump does nor care about inequality..and most of all Donald Trump does not care about YOU! We need change in this country. Since we do not have a strong enough third party to take on the two major parties , we must support the Democratic Ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. From this time forward, we the people must focus on the defeat of Donald Trump this November 3rd. We must not be mislead by the hate that the present administration is using to scare voters. As Franklin Roosevelt said "there is nothing to fear but fear itself!" DONALD TRUMP IS NOT A LEADER, HE IS NOT YOUR PROTECTOR;HE IS AN AGITATOR WHO PREACHES DIVISION AND HATE! 

Congratulations to Kamala Harris

 My hardy congratulations to Kamala Harris; a great Vice Presidential  choice as Joe Biden's running mate. I had seen her as the attorney general prosecuting Donald Trump. My current thoughts have modified    because I do not think that Mr. Biden's presidency wants to waste its. time in office on that theme. I think that the State of New York and Cyrus Vance will take the lead in prosecuting  the Trump Organization and Trump himself once he is legally removed from office by the people in the coming November election . Kamala Harris adds to Mr. Biden's ability to be elected the next president of the United States. I would ask you to read the New York Times praise of Ms. Harris.; she is truly a person for the people ,all people . Finally, the democrats have a ticket, Over the next few months we will get to know them a little better; and if the team gets elected we will get to know them even better .Collectively, we must vote the Biden-Harris ticket ...to build a better America..to end systemic racism, to have  liberty and justice for all..to get a grip on this pandemic ..and to restore the United States as the moral leader of the free world! BUT IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THE GOALS OF THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET AND DESIRES OF THE PEOPLE..WE MUST ALL VOTE!!!!!!

Donald Trump is attacking the fundamentals of OUR Democracy

The person who is presently in The White House is attacking the fundamentals of Our democracy.  Donald Trump has said in the media that this years election will be an embarrassment to the United States; the only embarrassment to the United States is Donald Trump himself.  He is a desperate and he trying his best to continue misleading the public.His base is not paying attention to his actions; make America Great again. his slogan in 2016 is a lie. America has always been great; but America has to acknowledge its problems. For nearly four years Donald Trump has tried to divide our country in every way possible . He is a friend to the rich; he does not care about the citizens of our nation.  He cares about how he can get money to his friends and family and money in his pocket. Donald Trump thinks his base is stupid and that includes Tucker Carlson ; Donald Trump thinks he can tell you anything and you will  believe him. Donald Trump is dangerous! Our right to vote is fundamental to the democratic process. He is trying to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the results of the election..in advance. VOTE.. go to the polls, mail in your absentee ballot , mail in your mail-in ballot..just vote. Donald Trump is a disgrace to our armed forces ; he is a racist. He has damaged this nations relationship with our allies. He abandoned our allies on the field of battle; he took us out of the climate accord . He has allowed our nation to fall from the leadership of the free world..he thinks everything is about money. I made a joke once in my earlier campaign that I thought that Donald Trump's foreign policy would be a Trump Tower in every N.A.T.O country. I do not think that is far from the truth; I believe he has some kind of deal with Vladimir Putin He is destroying the environment  He is trying to suppress your right to vote. His handling of the pandemic has become a national tragedy and so much more. He is trying to be a tyrant. We must dismiss Donald Trump overwhelmingly at the  polls this November 3rd. He is making me sick to my stomach; and I know it's not just me. Joe Biden will have alot to do; He must chose a vice president who has diplomatic experience to help repair the damage done internationally by the Trump administration. While Joe Biden is a decent man who will fight to end inequality in this nation. he NEEDS a vice president with broad credentials on the international stage ; an individual who reflects the aspirations of black women; an individual who can easily step in as president. Susan Rice is the best choice for Mr. Biden's running mate. A Biden-Rice ticket illustrates balance in domestic affairs and diplomacy. I hope it will be a landslide victory for the people!

Susan Rice is the best choice for Joe Biden as Vice President

Susan Rice how did I overlook her? The democrats require  balance on their ticket. Ms. Rice is the perfect choice. A Rhodes scholar, a person with diplomatic experience and a former United Nations ambassador. No more guessing ,no more multiple choice questionnaires on the internet. Ms. Rice fills the bill completely; who better suited to help restore the United  States status with our allies than a former individual with diplomatic experience during the Obama tenure in the White House .I am sure that all the other women on Mr. Biden's short list would agree . Now all w have to do is to get tom Perez .national chair of the democratic party to agree to her name on the ticket. The perfect ticket and an easy sell to the democratic base and even to independents who care about our nation. Ms. Rice could easily step in to the presidency if something happens to Mr. Biden. IT IS GOOD ALL THE WAY ROUND! SUSAN RICE SHOULD BE THE VICE PRESIDENTAL CHOICE FOR JOE BIDEN

The Polls..remember what happened to Hillary Clinton..she lost!

When you listen to the media, they tell you that Joe Biden is ahead of the person in the oval office. Unfortunately, these statistics may be very misleading. The problem with polls are numerous. There is a lot of information to consider when you make a decision based on a poll.  What is the composition of the poll...sample size,  geographic location, gender, professional or not, age, a person who votes or not ,their political affiliation. Hopefully democrats will not rely on polls this November. The democratic party has chosen Joe Biden as their candidate; he was not necessarily my choice or yours for that matter but he is the candidate. I want to hear more from Joe. His choice for vice president will be his choice as his successor; so I hope he picks a good candidate one who has great political experience and one who could step in in moment of tragedy. I want to hear about the composition of his cabinet. I want to hear about how he will deal with this pandemic. I want to hear about a vaccine that has been tested and tested and tested. I want it to be safe and effective. I DO NOT WANT A VACCINE HURRIED THROUGH THE  VARIOUS PHASES TRYING  TO OFFSET POOR POLLING DATA FOR TRUMP TO GET REELECTED  AND TO CLAIM A VICTORY THAT MAY NOT BE AT ALL SAFE. I want to hear that the new attorney general will prosecute donald trump and his cronies. I want to hear about health care for everyone rich or poor.I want to hear about aide to education housing for for the poor >I want to hear about good jobs good training programs for young people who do not want to go to college or university. I want to hear about  tuition reform.BUT MOST OF ALL I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT HOW WE ARE GONING TO END SYSTEMIC RACISM AND INEQUALITY IN THIS COUNTRY AND AROUND THE WORLD.and I want to hear more from Joe Biden about all that concerns  us all as citizens. SO JOE..TELL ME AND EVERYONE ELSE WHAT IS IT GOING TO BE LIKE FOR THE UNITED STATES TO HAVE YOU AS PRESIDENT. 99 DAYS AND COUNTING ..GOOD LUCK! AND BY THE WAY..YOU ALSO HAVE TO RESTORE THE UNITED STATES AS THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD.  A POSITION THAT TRUMP ABANDONED!

Mayhem does not bring change; it brings in unwanted federal authorities

The United States Congress has not responded to the reaction of the George Floyd murder and others. Congress has not responded to police brutality and the need for national change. Congress has not responded to systemic racism in this country. These are facts. Now we are having another reaction to the presence of federal authorities in many 'democractic ' cities across our nation. These authorities are not welcome nor requested; their presence is  enraging further the people's right to be heard through protest. Unfortunately , as we have seen, there is a segment of people within the protests that are using protest as an excuse for violence and vandalism. This is going nowhere. Violence will bring more violence. The protestors suddenly are playing into the hands of a president whose only motive for the use of force is to get reelected  .Let us all think about this: do we want Donald Trump reelected ;my answer is absolutely not! I hope you all agree. We are at a critical juncture in our history; one where we, as a nation,  have to reflect on the history of inequality and racism that has existed for generations. We must all respond to these problems. First we must respect the rule of law; where there is injustice we must ALL act to end it. We must reform policing in the United States; We must demand a national policy of training for all who choose to go into law enforcement. We must challenge all authorities local state and nation to put money where money is needed..housing,health  care ,education social reform and social services. The voices of protestors across a our. land must be heard by the chosen representatives in Washington. With the current outrage in many cities and the voices of the non-protesting citizenry, Congress must listen to the cries of the people.  How do we get a response;We the people vote out the representatives that do not care about our health our safety and the pride that all Americans share in knowing that the United States potentially is the greatest nation on this planet. I CHOOSE TO VOTE FOR REAL CHANGE! I want to know before I vote for Joe Biden what the theme of his presidency will be. Will he choose Elizabeth Warren as his vice president or someone else. The likes of Kamela Harris is another great choice; but I see her more as the Attorney General who would aggressively prosecute Trump and others. I would like to hear Mr. Biden tell us about his cabinet. Will it be filled with new faces of color in key posts? I think Joe Biden is the candidate of the party rather than the candidate of the people; but he is what has been given to us. The major question that still will be on people's minds is will Biden be enough!

We have seen the reaction now what is the response going to be?

For nearly a month now, we have seen various reactions to the deaths of African-Americans at the hands of the police; we have heard the cries of inequality.
what will be the response of the federal government. It is not like this hasn't happened before. The cries of parents after sandy hook and other mass shootings. NOTHING happened. Why is that? It seems as though these cries and protests have fallen on the deaf ears of  OUR Congress in Washington. The right and the left each point fingers at one another, to no avail. We are all struggling through a devastating pandemic with no clear end in sight and no leadership in the White House. The political outlook is uncertain..The Democrats are trying to give us the impression that Mr. Biden will win in November. The polls point to a victory, but we are not there yet.  It is time to pay attention to everything that is going on..the black lives matter movement or should I say all lives matter it is not matter what the color of your skin is,reforming our local police forces with national and uniform training , working towards a more equal society that in itself is very complicated, paying attention to climate change, paying attention to the negative impact that the current administration is having on the environment our leadership in the world and certainly the current president's abuse of power and obstruction of justice. What should the nation's response be? Demand that Mr. Trump resign from office, no that is not good enough  because you would still have the remanents of his administration.Try to impeach him again, but this time on charges of treason!Having knowledge of bounties on American Service personnal  by a foreign power. Another narrow attempt but legitimate. Or,and I hope everyone will agree, Vote Trump out of office along with as many Republicans as possible and Have the people's attorney general bring him up on so many charges that if found guilty that the result will put him in prison for the rest off his life. The people demand justice. And to add, his financial resources should be stripped from he and his family and that the whole group  be forced to endure the hardship of unemployment that so many Americans are enduring right now. We the people have allowed this president to hurt American citizens; we the people have allowed this president to destroy the environment, we the people have allowed this president to take our nation from it s leadership in the free world; we the people have allowed this president to disrespect the rule of law..AND NOW WE THE PEOPLE MUST NO LONGER TOLERATE THIS BEHAVIOR..AND NOW WE THE PEOPLE MUST REMOVE HIM FROM THE HIGHESS OFFICE IN OUR NATION BY VOTING HIM OUT OF OFFICE . EVERYONE MUST VOTE NO MATTER WHAT! WE THE PEOPE MUST NEVER AGAIN ALLOW SUCH A PERSON AS A DONALD TRUMP TO OCCUPY THE WHITE HOUSE AND DEMORALIZE ITS CITIZENS AND DESTROY OUR LEADERSHIP IN THE WORLD! BUT WE WILL NOT ATTAIN THIS GOAL UNLESS WE ALL VOTE!

Once again..an unnecessary fatality within the black community

It is just unbelievable that another young black man has been killed by the police. This time in the Atlanta area; based on what I reviewed in the video of this latest incident;  the victim did not have to be shot in the back. He could have been apprehended quickly by the police by other means ;according to various accounts, the YOUNG man had left a vehicle and was fleeing on foot when fatally shot. More fuel to the fire, and rightfully so. what was the reason for this incident..drinking on the property of a fast food joint.  I do not understand the mind set of the officer..was he too out of shape to catch the individual who was fleeing and decided that it was easier to shot the guy in the back than go after him..was he just a racist policeman. What was actually in this officers head when he fatally shot Mr. Rayshard  Brooks? How quickly is OUR congress going to act in a positive way to thwart these horrible instances from happening. By the way, the white guy who killed nine people who were worshipping in a church was given a hamburger by the police.  Doesn't this whole thing make you sick to your stomach!

Liberty and Justice for All?

The public execution of George Floyd in Minneapolis has been seen by millions of Americans on national television. Mr. Floyd did not have his day in court; he had his life taken from him, from his family and from his friends and neighbors. This is another incident of police brutality against the African-American community. Is this ever going to stop? The outpouring of anger against injustice has overflowed in the streets of Minneapolis and other cities around the country. There is no justice for All in this nation. There is no equality for all in this country. WHY NOT? We must ALL take action! How would you feel if it was your son or daughter was lying on the ground with four police officers around him or her and one of them is holding his knee against your child's neck; holding his knee there for a very long time; leading to their death? More than outrage, wouldn't you say. What is the solution? Will those responsible for Mr. Floyd's DEATH be punished for the crime of FIRST DEGREE MURDER and other crimes? We will see. What about the harm done to the community as a whole? Question after question have to be answered. Will the Congress finally address the issues of police injustice towards the black community? SOMEONE HAS TO STAND UP!

Are vaccines safe?

Not all vaccines are safe. There have been many studies challenging the safety of vaccines. They have been linked to autism. With the current pandemic ,scientists  around the world are rushing to create a vaccine for covid-19. We are being lead to believe that a vaccine can be rushed through the F.D.A for approval by early January 2021.The administration is in fantasy land. We have not tested everyone ; we do have enough information about this virus. In truth, the current administration is making comments that are literally untrue. It will take years to develop a universal and safe vaccine. There are folks that are very alarmed by the thought of being forced to have a vaccine administered to them.
Hopefully, people will eventually develop a natural immunity to this virus. People are losing confidence in the person who leads the nation. Do not get careless; mitigation is now the most important aspect of our lives. Practice good health habits. eat the right foods,try not to stress out too much. As more information is learned about this virus;perhaps ,a natural cure can be developed. A natural cure will be a much safer solution than a vaccine.

The populuation of the United States is 328,239,523 as of 2019

Obviously we are in 2020 and there is a census going on to determine aide to the states and to figure out the various congressional districts.There are a lot of people in the United States.   This administration has been delinquent in its response to the current pandemic. Numerous misleading comments to the Presidents base are simply untrue. We do not lead the world in testing per capita; the only thing that this country leads in are the total number of cases and as of today that number is 1,359,319, an increase of nearly TWELVE THOUSAND SINCE YESTERDAY; THIS COUNTRY ALSO LEADS THE WORLD IN THE NUMBER OF DEATHS AT 81,847, an increase of nearly 1200 from yesterday too. Mr. Trump is trying to glorify his response to this pandemic; when the truth is that the only thing  he is doing is trying to shift the blame for the pandemics spread in our nation to anyone other than himself. If his base believes his comments; they all need their heads examined. In reality, the total number of tests administered is less than three percent of the nation s population. The citizens are being mislead; this is dangerous. Testing everyone will eventually be the only choice. The health of our nation is at stake.
As I have mentioned in previous posts, caution and mitigation are going to be here for quite some time. The people will not be confident going forward. There is still a great risk across the country were this virus has not hit.  Be prepared.  The greatest fear is that everyone should be aware of is that we will get too relaxed too careless; the number of cases will be suppressed ; the number of deaths could also be suppressed. All for sake of the economy.  There is no economy if you are dead.

The democratic choice for 2020

This pandemic is not going away for some time. In the meantime, we must also begin to have some focus on the upcoming election in November. We are going to have to choose another four years of Donald Trump s mis-leadership or a different administration. The president is falling in the polls which means someone at least is paying attention; the problem is did the democrats, the other large corporation, choose the right candidate in Joe Biden. He has been a politican for a very long time and was vice president under the first black president of our nation, but does he have the energy at this point in time to carry the day and restore this nation s leadership in world. Despite his endorsements from former President Obama, former Secretary of State Clinton and others and his total delegates to date the answer is NO! He has no energy; he is totally out of it period. The Democratic National Committee has made another huge mistake dumping Bernie Sanders. Mr. Biden lacks the enthusiasm that the Sanders campaign provided the people .  Problems with sexual harassment allegations and a significant lack of financial support are creating   further difficulty for Mr. Biden"s path to the Presidency. Perhaps Bernie could carry the day if  somehow he were to become the nominee. The Democratic National Committee has betrayed him again. So what is the democratic party going to do about it..Andrew Cuomo has shown great leadership during this crisis..Bernie Sanders is still in the wing. This pandemic has revealed a lot of the problems that Bernie Sanders wanted to solve with his message:universal healthcare and equality for all and more.Democrats for the moment have rejected that theme. Now they are faced with a Sleepy Joe on the front page of the New York Post some weeks ago, with the caption:Wake up Joe you are the presumptive nominee.!The democrats may be in bind now and worst than that, the country will be far worst off with another  four years of a Donald Trump, Bring Bernie back or draft Andrew Cuomo.

Testing...without it we will never get this virus under control

misleading information again. It is  physcially impossible to test 500,000 per day without testing kits and the ability to obtain results. All of these tests have to go through a process to make an accurate diagnosis in a laboratory The United States is not equiped to do more. These tests that are being administered  require a doctors note. The health care system is maxed out.There are too many different kinds of tests; many of them with inaccurate results How do you get a consistent positive or negative diagnosis. In order not to create absolute panic for our citizens economic welfare various states are attempting to gradually reopen their economies. This is not a logical idea.I totally understand There is too much that we do NOT know. There are some studies that indicate that this virus is airborne; there is very knowledge about this virus. Reopening the economy, while necessary at some point, may prove very very dangerous.Over one million cases over 57000 deaths;these statistics are based on a very limited amount of data. Over and over you hear the importance of more testing. My opinion is that everyone should get a standardized . accurate and reliable test. Our healthcare experts are still trying to get a grip on this virus..every aspect of our society and the rest of the worlds have been effected.There are many individuals who are not even following the mitagation guidelines; people carelessly have flocked to beaches in parts of california. I wonder just how many people will become infected or even worst become reinfected from that kind of behavior; what about the cavilar attitude of some of the states. People are going to get more careless. Everyone should be tested; it is time to be prudent not careless. Unfortunately, the federal leadership of our nation thinks more about the economy and its reelection rather than the safety of the public.  When someone does not have all the facts, you stop..especially during a deadly pandemic. It has not reached the heartland yet. I listen to all the experts; if you are listening carefully, the experts are implying uncertainty. These so called experts are tip toeing around a president who thought that we had this under control.  We simply do NOT have this under control.  Testing will provide the data..isolation and mitagation will contain this for awhile. We need a treatment; I do not feel confident about a vaccine. Do you remember the early polio vaccine; it was very dangerous in the beginning. People have  to be realistic about the situation..this will be with us for quite some time. I survived two brain surgeries and the 2008 financial crisis..I hope we can ALL survive this. Hopefully more test kits will show up where they are immediately needed,and more available as soon as possible for everyone else. It is MANDATORY TO TEST EVERYONE!

Let us all be careful

If you are like me.you do not like having your hands in your pockets. I would love to be working and I am sure that you  feel the same way.We are all  getting anxious. But here is the problem, things are just not going to jump start and we are all going to be playing  catch up with our bills and our lives.Caution, the harsh reality is that the United States represents 1/3 of the known cases in the entire world and 25 percent of the worlds deaths; but what about the unknown. It is difficult to have any faith in the comments that come out of the White House. We still need to have universal and accurate testing in place. Our nation lags far behind in what we should be doing; daily figures misrepresent  the reality. Worldwide testing is inevitable; it will take years to accurately test the population of the United States and God knows how long to test the rest of the globe.Public safety is this nations number one priority. The economy is a subset. I do not believe that businesses have been able to plan for the new normal.  Every business will have to develop new criteria in their individual workplaces. Social distancing and other mitigation: masks,gloves and hygiene will be with us for some time. Reopening our varied economy is very complex. Caution is absolutely mandatory.Listen carefully to the daily statistics..the media is only reporting what is known. The unknown is what we all have to be concerned about and at the same time deal with. The risk to the public of restarting things in a reckless manner outweighs the immediate result. Businesses have to have concrete plans; unfortunately.it will be trail and error. That in itself is going to be very difficult.

YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE

The administration has a plan; reelection at any cost.  If the director of the C.D.C predicts the possibility of this virus returning in the fall ,how will the government respond?  I would not like to think about a conspiracy theory but OUR RIGHT TO VOTE may be limited or maybe even surpressed. Look what happened in the state of Wisconsin; is that what we have to look forward to. Mail-in voting is the only way to secure a true and auditable vote; Republicans are afraid of this method of voting. The higher the percentage of voting the more likely democrats will do better; there is a big argument over this issue.  I would urge everyone to vote by mail.

Reagents for corona virus testing coming from China? you must be kidding

How can the United States trust China? With the largest population in the world providing a gigantic cheap labor force,the Chinese government has managed to have a huge trade advantage with the United States and the rest of the world. Everything is made in China ; there manufacturing ability is a great part of their foreign policy. Once upon a time, the United States led the world in manufacturing;  that lead is long gone.Our great corporations have left the continental U.S. for corporate profits and cheap labor.. Our Nation must cut the chord with China. The United States government must get those corporations back .The art of the deal under the current administration is a failure; the lack of trust and leadership has led us to be unreliable on the world stage.The administrations slogan put America first has backfired. At this point we are the losers ;hopefully, a new administration will stop this trend. In the meantime,despite all its criticisms, Big Pharma must step up. It is only logical that the pharmaceutical industry make our tests and our reagents. WHAT A TIME TO STEP UP. WE NEED A UNIVERSAL TEST WITH ALL ITS PARTS THAT ARE ACCURATE AND RELIABLE. IT IS THE JOB OF THOSE GIANTS TO PUT THE HEALTH OF THE GENERRAL PUBLIC FIRST AND FOREMOST..PROFITS CAN COME LATER. I BELIEVE EVERYONE SHOULD GET A TEST AND I MEAN EVERYONE. THE GLOBAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN TESTED TO CAPACITY. THIS IS NEW VIRUS THAT WE KNOW REALATIVLY NOTHING ABOUT. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GUESS. WE MUST PUT  ALL OF OUR RESOURCES TO HELP  MANKIND.The United States must step back into the world stage as a participant and as a leader.The lack of trust and the lack of great leadership domestically and internationally has enabled China to usurp that position; one long held by the United States. Our nation needs new leadership to combat this pandemic and future problems both strategic and economic.THE UNITED STATES MUST REESTABLISH ITSELF AS A GREAT MORAL COMPASS .THE QUESTION is: IS IT POSSIBLE? or HAVE WE LOST TOO MUCH GROUND ?

Are you paying attention Now?

misleading information leads to misleading conclusions. The statistics made available by the media represent a small sample of the population of the United States.The administration says that 5 million tests have been administered; unfortunately, that does not take into account multiple tests per individual. Our front line health care professionals  all need to be tested; not once but multiple times. Israel tests its health care workers every five days. The administration must provide ample testing to  our health community in order to secure their safety.  Mistakes have been made already; lets learn from them and correct them. .It would be a good idea  for the administration to admit its short comings and come clean. The daily briefings have to become truthful and accurate and not full of the Presidents re election campaign.At this moment in time, the ..administration needs to give some confidence to our nation. There has been no evidence of that coming from this administration .This pandemic is not going away anytime soon.We need a universal and accurate test distributed throughout our country and the rest of world in order to combat this disease.
without testing we are asking for a catastrophy of  enormous proportions.  We know very little about this virus. The world health organization has cautioned that here is no evidence that antibody testing can show immunity. Another red flag to opening the economy; even in phases. Every precaution must be used .

Tears for Bernie Sanders Departure

Earlier this afternoon I listened to Senator Bernie Sanders "farewell" speech suspending his campaign for the presidency in 2020. Mr. Sanders is a true  gentleman ; one who is true to his ideals. One of the reasons that I started to run for  Congress in 2012 was the influence of his message. It simply made

sense. Mr. Sanders quest for the presidency in 2020 was once again greeted with great enthusiasm.Unfortunately.I saw the writing on the wall. His campaign looked potentially great again but once again the Democratic National Committee dumped him.I can just hear the internal memos fromTom Perez the D.N.C. chair..democratic socialist..no way. Sanders message represents the future for this country..young people do not want the status quo; the youth of this country want real change .

the things that matter to them are: climate change..a liveable planet for future generations, health care as a human right,a living wage, equality for all and so much more. Bernie Sanders message will resonate beyond the November Election. If Mr.. Biden is lucky and the electorate wakes up and decides to go overwhelmingly to the ballot box and if Mr. Biden chooses a progressive running mate...the citizens may just wake up on the 4th of November 2020 with a democratic president with the weight of restoring the moral leadership of the United States of America. My personal opinion of the issue is that Bernie Sanders should have run as an independent in 2016,and perhaps this country would be a in a much better position than with the current misleader -in -chief. But that is just hindsight and of course hindsight can sometimes be 20/20. The electoral statistics are 43% independent,,29% democrat and republicans round it off with 27%..plus a slight margin for error. In conclusion, I am amazed at the fact that this country is afraid of the word socialism.  What do you think medicare , medicade .unemployment insurance and snap are? These programs are part of a social contract that interface between government and society. 

it has been awhile

There is a serious crisis in our United States.Our nation is being torn apart..our environment is being attacked ;the protections we had have been altered by a republican administration in a reckless manner loosening the existing EPA laws or simply repealing them altogether. Now we are faced with a terrible pandemic..This administration is dealing with the old saying to little to late;and as a result thousands of people in this country are dying..although the administration initially closed its borders the containment policy left every state to take measures into their own hands. Presently orders to shelter in place and social distancing are not observed in all fifty states. Despite the governments claim to have tested nearly 1.8 million people in our country, tests remain difficult to obtain and CANNOT  give us. an. accurate number of potential cases, The population of this country is 330 million any projections are just not accurate and give a very misleading conclusion which no medical expert should rely on. The facts are clear the administration simply wants you to believe that this imaginary curve will flatten and our everyday lives will go back to normal ;this is just not true..it is going to take some time not just a  few weeks.How can you get something under control that you know very little about? How can you make a prediction on this virus if you have not tested everyone?Why isn't the federal government using the shelter in place recommendations to test everyone thru the various health departments in each state? We cannot safely reopen the country until we know the facts; the economy is secondary to public safety.The lack of understanding on part of the administration is evident ..an indifferent president stands before you daily reading from a piece of paper with no heart or soul.
