If at First You Don't Succeed...Try, Try, Again

Congress is the most powerful branch of government, and herein lies the problem. Year after year election cycle after election cycle, congress fails to enact legislation that our nation desperately needs.  The two party system thinks more of their own individual party agendas rather than the needs of the nation.  I ran as a write -in  independent candidate in 2012 and 2014..I received little attention. I intent to get a lot of attention in 2016.  I believe that there is a need for independents in Congress.  As an independent I have no allegiance to either party. I have left my blog on from previous campaigns..I hope that when it comes time to sign my petition to get on the ballot that you will support me.  Democrats and Republicans have an advantage over an independent, such as myself , because 1 the two major parties petition before me and secondly they need fewer signatures. I look forward to meeting more of the electorate, joining in debates and getting equal media attention.  I hope that more independent minded candidates stand up to the establishment this election cycle..there are 434 seats  to be won...independents  must muster a strong fight to break the gridlock in Washington.

je suis charlie aussi,mais

we are all charlie in one way or another . The horror in Paris was appalling to us all. The interpretation was that it was an attack on free speech and the fundamentals of democracy. I believe that the underlying cause is inequality. World leaders are fumbling around "blindfolded"..this is simply nihilistic jihadists reacting to a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed. There is an ever growing gap between the rich and others.Imagine yourself without a proper education, without the ability to have a good job to provide for yourself and your loved ones, imagine living in poor conditions..imagine the only thing that you actually have is your faith. Throughout the world's history, religious beliefs have been a cause of war and mayhem;one faith thinking it is better than the other. We need more dialogue and less conflict. We need more understanding of one another; we certainly do not need force. The use of force only contributes to more force.I think you understand the theory for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. Inequality has drawn its line in the sand; if humankind does not change then it will implode on itself. We cannot eliminate terrorists because others will only take their place..we need to change..we need to reduce inequality through positive actions increased aide to education worldwide, we need to provide good jobs with living wages, we need to provide the means to provide and build proper housing, we need to have expanded dialogue to ease our differences. Most of all, we need to have respect for ourselves and for each other. If this does not begin to happen,we will continue to fan the fire and create more terrorism in the world. Unfortunately, we are stuck. Horrible crimes have been committed; those who committed them must be brought to justice. But what is the ultimate solution? When will this terror stop? Will it ever stop? There is a solution ; we must solve the problem of inequality. As Eleanor Roosevelt said decades ago, there can be no security with so much inequality!
